Creative Troon kids lift awards

ROTARY Club of Troon President Elect Jim McGuffie recently presented Primary School Art Competition certificates to the winners at Piersland House Hotel, Troon.

This year the competition was based on an exercise in calligraphy, with 158 entries being received by the Rotary Club of Troon from five schools.

Primary 7 pupils were asked to select one of four prescribed texts and produce a creative work of art on A4 paper.

High standards were reached and the prize winners were: First, Olivia Riddle, Struthers; second equal, Leigh Adamson, Barassie and Andrew McPhillimy, St Patricks; third equal, Julianna Brock, Troon Primary, and Kimberly Taylor, Dundonald.
