YOUNGSTERS were thrilled to be presented with prizes after taking part in a competition to design artwork for a eco friendly calendar.
Primary pupils from across South Ayrshire were asked to create an image for the Energy Agency calendar with saving energy at home as the theme.
And the standard was great, giving judges a difficult task in selecting winners and runners-up.
Provost Winnie Sloan was there to present prizes and certificates to children.
She said: “The artwork produced by the children is outstanding. It is colourful and sends out a clear message that it is important for all of us to save energy in our homes.
“The children have put a lot of time and effort into creating their entries and it is very clear that the young people are well informed about how to save energy and protect our environment.
“I would like to thank every child who entered the competition and congratulate the young artists who were runners-up or prize winners.”
Thirteen winners were picked, one for each month of the year and one for the front cover.
