S1 Prestwick pupil wins poster competition

CONGRATULATIONS to Lauren Noble in S1 who won the poster competition which recently took place in all S1 PSE classes.

Out of 160 Prestwick Academy entries and those of all secondary's in South Ayrshire, Lauren's poster was chosen by the NHS Oral Health team.

Lauren's prize was a goody bag presented by the team. Well done to Lauren and all S1 pupils who entered the competition.

THE SOUTH Ayrshire Athletics Championships will take place at Dam Park stadium on Thursday, May 22. Trials for this event will start on Monday, May 12 at lunchtime for both track and field events.

Any pupils who are interested in competing should report to PE.

ON Tuesday night Prestwick Academy Under 13's performed very well against the current Scottish Cup finalists.

In a closely fought first half both sides had good chances to open the scoring but it was Auchinleck who took the lead and finished the first half leading 1-0.

Despite some excellent defending from Prestwick, Auchinleck scored two further goals to lead 3-0.

Prestwick showed good character and came back into the match with goals from James Mattear and Jamie Green to make it 3-2.

However, Auchinleck extended their lead through a highly dubious penalty and scored another late goal to finish the match 5-2 winners.

Man of the Match: Andrew McIntyre

FROM Thursday, May 1, until the end of term, staff will visit the new school in departmental groups to view progress.

Staff who have visited so far have commented positively.
