Four-year-old artist wins Prestwick church design contest

Corale Fraser and her design

BUDDING artist Corale Fraser has every reason to look thrilled.

For she’s exhibiting her first piece of art at the tender age of four.

The nursery school youngster’s work is so good that it even inspired a fellow artist to recreate it in stained glass.

The talented tot’s picture of St Nicholas Church won first place in a Sunday school contest.

Youngsters were asked to make a collage of the church and include all the different aspects of church and community life.

Proud mum Claire said: “The prize included having her picture recreated in stained glass by Moira from Rainbow Glass.

“You can see all the different things that Corale put into her picture in the glass. It’s fantastic.

“She loves drawing and painting like most children and people have commented on how good her work is.”

Corale, who is a pupil at Heathfield Nursery, was invited along to Rainbow Glass to help artist Moira Malcolm pick out the colours for the glass.

Claire added: “She had a really good time and is really pleased to have done so well.”

The glass window will now be auctioned off to raise money for the church’s centenary fund, which will be distributed to Malcolm Sargent House, Blythswood Care and the Malawi fund.
