Wellington pupils join Euro debate

THIRTEEN senior pupils will represent Wellington School at the biennial UCAPE youth conference later this month where they will meet fellow pupils from schools in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Hungary.

The theme of the conference is ‘The Rights of the Child’ and the pupils will take part in debates and discussions about children’s rights in Europe, all in French.

The conference starts in Brussels where the group will visit the European Parliament. The pupils then move on to Luxembourg and Strasbourg where their working sessions will alternate with visits to places of interest.

The group are pictured in the rugby shirts they designed for the conference. Peveril Sports interpreted the pupils’ ideas and supplied the shirts.
