Holmston Primary kids learn values

A VALUES Week at an Ayr school reinforced ideals of trust, fairness, co-operation, respect and responsibility.

The week at Holmston Primary highlighted issues like inclusion, equality and self-esteem.

Among the events was a visit from a group of residents of Morrison Gardens sheltered housing, who came to school to share some happy memories of their childhood days long ago.

Jamie Spiers of Foundation Meditation was a guest speaker on Buddhism, telling the story of Hotie, known as the Laughing Buddha.

Community officer PC Reid did a workshop with pupils on the importance of having a knowledge of the value of citizenship and the law.

The week ended with a highly successful daffodil tea, which was held by the pupil council.

Mums and grans were entertained by Holmston Snazzy Strings, the Music Club, and poetry from the music and infant classes.
