Prestwick's Chris is goal hero in the US

A FORMER Prestwick Academy lad is making his mark as a footballer on the other side of the Atlantic.

Chris McBride is on a four year soccer scholarship in Pulaski, Tennessee.

But he’s spending the summer playing with Toronto Lynx in Canada so he can play on during his summer break.

And the 19-year-old climbed off the bench to score an injury time winner as Lynx beat West Michan Edge 3-2.

Because of his age, Chris is able to play for both the Premier Development League team and the U20s.

Chris, whose parents Lynn and Ronnie stay in Prestwick, played in the West of Scotland Youth Leagues since he was eight.
