THE number of people out of work in Central Ayrshire has fallen by 154 in the last month.
That means that 2.9 per cent of the potential workforce are claiming unemployment benefit, according to MP Brian Donohoe.
He insists that the improving picture flies in the face of speculation of a recession, saying: “The doom merchants really want to back off to allow the government to get us through this difficult period without adding to the pressures caused by oil price rises and the so-called credit crunch.”
