MUIRKIRK is in the running to be the Scottish Village of the Year.
It’s been shortlisted in the South of Scotland category of the contest.
Villagers will attend a presentation day in Stirling later this month where they will appear before a panel of judges.
The contest is organised by Calor Scotland and regional winners will be announced before the end of the month.
The winner from each region will receive £2000 and a plaque, presented to them during the community judging in August.
The overall winner will be revealed shortly afterwards.
