Cathy Jamieson claims betting shop staff are facing violence

BETTING shop staff are facing unacceptable violence from customers, according to MSP Cathy Jamieson.

And she’s backed a campaign in parliament to protect the staff in their workplace.

She said: “Violence and abuse towards staff working in betting shops is completely unacceptable.

“Verbal and physical abuse and intimidation is a growing threat faced by betting shop staff.

“I met with representatives of Community when they came to Parliament recently to highlight their campaign and I hope that local betting shops in Ayrshire will become involved.”
