It’s time to aim Jai high

Singing star Jai McDowall is ready to relaunch his career – by starring in a video with a stunning model.

The reality show winner has this week unveiled the first track from his new album.

And he admits it’s a “make or break” moment as he bids to shake the tag of TV’s forgotten man.

Jai, 26, said: “I’ve reached the point where I have to be an artist in my own right.

“I’ve always said I didn’t regret doing Britain’s Got Talent, and winning the show has opened so many doors for me.

“But it’s something that will always follow me around until I make my mark in my own way. And I’m positive that this will do it.”

Jai’s debut single from his album is called “Got To Let Go” and scenes for the video were filmed during a three day shoot in Manchester.

Jai revealed: “It was an eye opener for me because I had to do a lot of acting and it was pretty intense.

“The story of the song is that I’m going through a break-up and can’t get the girl out of my head.

“In the video, my other alf is played by a really pretty model so it made the early morning filming that little bit easier!”

Jai is currently on a Scottish tour as he takes his new sound on the road.

And it culminates in a gig at Ayr Town Hall on May 25.

Jai said: “I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait to get to Ayr.

“I’m told there’s a fan flying all the way from America for that show, so I hope it’s worth it!”
