Boozy nights out are causing me problems

QI work in a country where alcohol is not allowed and I find it quite difficult to survive without having a wee tipple. When I come home every three months my wife says I am a lovely person and then I go to the pub and meet my pals and come home drunk every night for the first week. I then seem to even out and before I know it I am back on that plane again feeling extremely lonely.

AYou earn big money and you know the commitment and restrictions that go along with the job before you apply for it. You have become complacent. What about the wife and the weans, don’t you think they are suffering their own discomforts while you are away working. Grow up son and stop thinking you are this hero who is returning home and everyone else should put up with you and your immature behaviour for the first week. What if your wife decided to behave in the same manner the first week you return to your place of work?
