The iconic view across the Firth of Clyde from Turnberry could be blighted by an off-shore wind farm.
A Marine Scotland scoping study as identified the spot as a potential site for massive turbines.
The move has been blasted by Euro MP Struan Stevenson. He said: "We can see for ourselves the true horror story of what could be planned for the Firth of Clyde, directly in front of Turnberry Golf Course. Incredibly, Marine Scotland has designated a vast area directly in front of Turnberry as a ‘search area’ where turbines could potentially be sited. This proves that nowhere in Scotland is sacrosanct. Nowhere is safe from the relentless obsession of the SNP’s turbine tyrants.”
