Comedy on show at Live@Troon

IT’S going to be a great laugh in Troon this summer – and that’s a fact!

For one of the best acts on the comedy circuit will move into town for this year’s Live@Troon Festival.

Edinburgh Fringefavourites The Colour of Ham will add a funny new dimension to the weekend of top entertainment.

The Colour Ham consists of Colin McLeod, Kevin McMahon and Troon man Gavin Oattes with an act they describe as an ensemble with a mind-reader, magician and comedian.

It’s a very witty and engaging evening’s entertainment – but it’s adult orientated humour and strictly not for the easily offended or for children.

The Skinny said of their act that it was “fresh, different, talented and, most importantly, very funny” while veteran illusionist Paul Daniels – who very gamely became part of one performance at the Fringe last year – said the show was “a true lesson in daring comedy”.

Although they’re new to Live@Troon, the trio are not newcomers to the entertainment circuit. Colin, the magician, has performed at Ceaser’s Palace in Las Vegas, the Hollywood Magic Castle and the International Magic Festival.

He has also featured on both Penn & Teller’s Fool Us tv show and had a successful audition on Britain’s Got Talent.

He likes to think of himself as “quite literally, the best mentalist in the world, EVER... from Harthill”.

Kevin founded and runs the Edinburgh International Magic Festival, having trained with the cream of UK and USA magicians to create a superb act that is distinctly his own.

A member of the world renowned Magic Circle, he has worked on shows for the BBC and Channel 4 and enjoyed two successful stints at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Gav, a regular on the Fred Macauley Show on Radio Scotland, has been writing comedy sketches since he fell under the spell of Reeves and Mortimer as a teenager. As part of the comedy duo Gav ‘n’ Rolls, he performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He broke off from comedy to create a very successful business but was lured back to the stage in 2010.

By September, the guys will be hot off a long run at the Edinburgh Fringe – an ideal opportunity to catch this fantastic act on top form.
