Could be give Sadie her forever home?

HOW can anyone resist this cute little face?

But dog lovers are doing just that.

For wee Sadie has been looking for love for eight months.

And she faces Christmas behind bars simply because of an accident of birth.

Gorgeous Sadie is a Staffordshire bull terrier.

And she has been in the care of the loving staff at Ayr Animal Rehoming Centre since being found wandering the streets as a stray earlier this year.

Staff believe that the breed’s unfair and untrue reputation for aggression is turning potential new owners off.

And lonely Sadie, who is between five and eight years old, is paying the price.

Now, staff at the SSPCA run centre on the outskirts of Ayr are appealing for a kind-hearted person to take on friendly Sadie and offer her a second chance.

Marion Hainey, the centre manager, explained: “Poor Sadie has been constantly overlooked by prospective owners and it's a real shame because she's an absolutely lovely girl.

“After spending around four months in our Glasgow centre she was moved here in September to try her luck in another area but, sadly, no one seems to want her.”

But unfortunately Marion is not surprised.

She continued: “The dogs who have been in our care for the longest amount of time do tend to be Staffies and Staffy crosses and this is no coincidence.

“Unfortunately, they are unfairly tagged as being aggressive and intimidating towards people, but in our experience this couldn't be further from the truth.

“Sadie is a real sweetheart and is happiest when she's lying in her bed with her cosy blanket or being shown affection.”

But when she does find a new home, it will be bitter sweet for staff at the centre.

Marion added: “Although we all love her, Sadie really deserves to be part of a caring family and it will make us so happy if she finds a new home soon.”
