CALLING all girls – are you tough enough for the wild?
That’s the challenge being laid down by one woman in the name of charity.
Tarbolton mum Tricia Garrett will lead a pack of self-styled princesses on a rough weekend of camping.
A series of challenges, run by ex-Army personnel, will test the girls to their limits.
And the event, called I’m A Princess Get Me Out Of Here, will aim to raise as much as possible for a good cause.
Tricia explained: “I came up with the idea because I wanted to raise money for Action Duchenne, which is a Muscular Dystrophy charity.
“My son has a mild form of the disorder so I want to do everything I can to help them.
“My idea for this event was, obviously, inspired by the TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
“But I want to challenge women of all ages, shapes and sizes to get out of their comfort zone and come camping for the weekend.
“We’ll head for Culzean and take on a series of challenges. It should be a really fun exercise and it’s being done for the charity.”
Tricia, 39, wants 24 women from across Ayrshire to take up her challenge and then split into two teams of 12 for the weekend.
She revealed: “The two teams will take on challenges such as army assault courses and zipwires.
“It’s designed to get you out in the fresh air and doing things you’d never dream of doing.
“You don’t have to sign up in groups – any individuals out there who fancy giving it a go can sign up and then be assigned a team.
“I know more than anyone that I’ll be going out of my comfort zone but I can’t wait to meet the challenges head on.”
The event takes place over the weekend of Saturday, August 13.
