A TOWN centre shop was robbed twice in one night as thieves launched a double raid on a drinks cabinet.
The brazen thieves kicked in the window in full view of buses, cars and pedestrians enroute to work in the early hours.
The images were captured on the shop’s own CCTV cameras.
Drinks Cellar boss Billy Ritchie revealed that he’s been left with £2000 bill as a result of the incident at his Burns Statue Square business.
The popular shop was breached at 2am and 6.45am last Wednesday, September 29.
And it’s believed that the same two thieves carried out both robberies, but managed to steal only £107 of booze, bizarrely beer..
After smashing a window and stealing cans of lager on display during their first raid, the duo returned for more action as daylight broke over Ayr.
Mr Ritchie added: “Luckily the CCTV cameras in our shop were working and managed to catch the second robbery taking place.
“Clearly these guys were amateurs as they didn’t come prepared for a robbery with holdalls and tools to break in.
“They just stood at the window and tried to put their foot through it before running in and grabbing more cans of lager – totally ignoring the stuff that is actually worth something.
“They just looked like young boys and I don’t know what they were thinking because people were walking about at the time and a bus which drew up outside the shop seemed to disturb them before they ran off.”
