Schoolgirl forced to leave Prestwick Academy after bullying

A SCHOOLGIRL has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder after months of horrific bullying.

The 15-year-old is battling to overcome the condition – commonly associated with traumatised soldiers returning from war.

Her heartbroken mum has been forced to pull her out of Prestwick Academy just weeks before her standard grade exams.

Meanwhile, the thugs responsible are still receiving an education.

Violent bullies terrorised the girl for months.

She heard rumours that they were trying to get her raped, her clothes were tossed in the school showers and her skirt was pulled up.

The brutality ended in a vile assault which left the girl with concussion.

But the brave youngster has opened up about her ordeal in a bid to save others from the same experience.

The fourth year pupil also wants to shame the school she feels let her down.

The girl said: “The bullying was rife. It started with them barging into me and throwing stuff at me in class.

“But then I started hearing rumours about them trying to get me raped and stabbed.

“It was probably just stupid talk but it was horrible to hear.”

Over the months, the bullying intensified.

She continued: “I was threatened in front of teachers.

"One girl announced to the whole class that she was going to get me attacked.

“I was constantly being belittled and humiliated.

I had to be taken out of PE because in the changing rooms, the girls would steal my shoes, hide things that belonged to me and put my clothes in the shower.

“The school said they couldn’t protect me there because the children have a right to privacy.”

The girl’s mum was horrified to learn how bad things were getting at school.

She explained: “They made up things so they could justify what they were doing.

“One of the bullies claimed my daughter had been slagging off her dead relative. And another said she was picking on her cousin.

“But she just isn’t like that, she’s a quiet girl and behaving like that just isn’t in her nature.”

The girl had her face smashed off a door in the school as well as being punched and kicked in the head by three girls.

The attack only stopped when a teacher intervened and pulled them off her.

Despite the brutal attack, the girls were only suspended for a day.

The devastated mum said: “The school tip toed around the bullies.

“They phoned me and said my daughter had been in a fight – it wasn’t a fight, she was assaulted.

“I picked her up from school and she was sick all over the car straight away. I just drove straight to hospital.

"She was kept in with concussion.”

She continued: “If you swear at a teacher you get three days suspension, that doesn’t add up.

“The bullying carried on after the attack. They followed her around, pulled her skirt up and told her to go and kill herself. It was general bullying and intimidation.”

The young girl’s top class grades began to drop as she became more and more anxious about going to school .

She wasn’t sleeping and struggled to concentrate in class. Three weeks ago, her mum decided to take her out of school .

She now has a tutor and is furiously trying to catch up for her standard grade exams later this month.

But the girl’s heartache is far from over. Her mum explained: “She keeps having nightmares that she is being beaten up.

“I’ve no idea how long she’ll need to keep seeing a counsellor or if it’ll have an effect on her in the future.

“As far as I can see, the school won’t take it seriously until a kid is hanging from a rafter.”
