JAMES Bond is coming to town.
And he’s definitely going to be shaken – not stirred.
It’s a charity ball, but not as we know it, from a children’s theatre company ready to make an impact.
The team behind M&M Productions, based in Ayr, is pledging to raise a mountain of cash for kids’ cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
And they’re promising to deliver a knockout show full of special effects and top level entertainment.
M&M production manager Edd Holloway revealed: “We’re all about putting on a show.
“For us it’s an event rather than a ball and we want people talking about it for months after they leave the venue.
“It will be like stepping into the world of James Bond. There’s going to be glitz, glamour and a few surprises thrown in as well.”
Edd is currently in training for a trek up Kilimanjaro with M&M’s managing director Chris Mitchell.
The pair are part of the Allister Boyd memorial climb and will use the charity ball to raise its profile as well as cash.
Edd added: “The money side of things will be great and of course we want to raise as much as possible in Allister’s memory.
“He went through so much compared to climbing a mountain, so anything we can do is great.
“But we also want to honour him by putting on a really entertaining night for everyone who comes to this ball.
“We want this to become the benchmark for charity balls in Ayrshire and I believe the area is big enough to take an event of this size.”
M&M are rolling in the big names for the charity night on Saturday, April 10.
X Factor runner-up Olly Murs is headline act – his first Scottish gig outwith the TV show.
Other music comes from top Scots band Counselled Out and Adele Rankin while comedian Johnny Mac adds to the line-up.
And Edd revealed: “We’ve done this kind of show around the country before, but never in Ayrshire so it’s new territory for us and we’re really excited.
“We’ve had great backing from the likes of West FM and Aliention Digital who are sponsoring the event and everyone’s getting behind it.
“Ayr’s a great place but all the theatres are closed down and you don’t often get the chance to see a real show. Hopefully we can fill that gap.”
Tickets for the ball are on sale now, priced £695 for a table of 10. Call the booking line on 01292 292999 or email bond@mamproductions.co.uk
