Attempted robbery on Ayr pet shop

A KNIFE wielding thug tried to hold up a pet shop.

But he made off empty handed after savvy staff raised the alarm.

The hooded man walked into Pets at Home in Ayr’s Alison Street, at around 6pm last Tuesday night brandishing a knife and demanding cash.

Terrified staff raised the alarm and the robber left before any money was handed over.

The culprit is described as being around 5’ 6”, in his mid twenties and wearing a lightblue hoodie and dark jeans.

It's believed that this incident was witnessed by a man who was in the shop at the time.

This possible witness was male and was wearing a red and white stripped top.

Also, as the robber made his getaway two boys who were outside the shop witnessed him running off.

It's believed that some of these witnesses may know who the robber is.
