Pen that kills Swine Flu and MRSA arrives in Ayr

A PEN that kills MRSA and swine flu has arrived in Ayr.

The anti-bacterial pen has an active agent that kills bacteria moulded into it.

It has been four years in the making and looks set to revolutionise hygiene in the workplace.

Stephen Price is the joint owner of brand promotional merchandise company Recognition Express.

The Ayr-based company said the pen has been a big hit with clients.

He explained: “We’ve been in talks with NHS Scotland to get this pen into hospitals. Staff are always borrowing pens and there is a lot of cross contamination.

“This is a great way of cutting that out.

“Hand washing is high on the agenda in our hospitals and this pen can be used along with it.

“The active agent is UV proof, water insoluble, scratch resistant and water resistant.

“The antibac compound is also present in the printing inks used for branding to ensure the effect is not compromised.”

The antibac pen kills 99.9 per cent of harmful bacteria and viruses including MRSA, C.Difficile, swine flu, salmonella and norovirus.

It is the only antibacterial pen approved to British Standards.
