Razor attack in Ayr

A PREMEDITATED razor attack resulted in a man being scarred for life.

Stewart Duncan needed 34 stitches on his face after it was sliced by sick Clinton Ritchie.

Ritchie claimed the broad daylight attack was in revenge for the rape of his girlfriend at the hands of Duncan.

At Ayr Sheriff Court this week, Ritchie, 37, pleaded guilty to the savage assault in Ayr’s South Harbour Street on October 28.

He admitted striking Duncan on the face with a razor blade he had concealed in his mouth.

Despite having a criminal record with 22 convictions including several for theft, assault and breach of the peace, he was jailed for 16 months by Sheriff Grant Hutchison.
