PUPILS at Minishant Primary School have been steeping themselves in Scottish culture during the Burns’ season.
First, Maggie Macrae, artistic director of Girvan Folk Festival, gave them a flavour of drama, dance and music skills, in three separate sessions.
Then, best-selling author and acclaimed story-teller Tony Bonning paid a visit to the school.
Tony used a powerpoint presentation, and songs to bring to life Burns’ fabulous poem Tam o’ Shanter.
Now pupils are focusing on a ‘Taste of Scotland’ afternoon, when villagers and families will be encouraged to share traditional Scottish recipes.
The afternoon will also feature Scots dance, poetry, music and song.
The school’s business partner, Burns Smokehouse, will provide a taste of local produce.
