A STALKING campaigner is to feature on a training DVD for prosecutors.
Ann Moulds endured a horrific ordeal at the hands of evil Alex Reid.
The Ayr woman now dedicates her life to trying to change stalking laws in Scotland.
She has achieved massive support from police, politicians, medical experts and charities.
Now the Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service are making a training film for their staff.
Ann and her story will feature on the DVD in a bid to educate prosecutors on the devastating effects of stalking.
Ann was sent vile packages and letters from Alex Reid, a man she thought was her friend.
But because the matter was treated as a breach of the peace, Reid walked free from Ayr Sheriff Court with probation and community service.
He is now able to get on with his life and has secured employment with a local bakery.
Ann left the town she loves, closed her business, and now uses another name so that Reid cannot trace her.
But she started Action Against Stalking and is determined to bring Scottish stalking laws in line with those in England and Wales.
Thanks to her, Strathclyde Police’s professional standards department have revised procedures in investigating stalking crime.
Victims of stalking will also be automatically highlighted on a database as a vulnerable person, which means that the progress of the enquiry will now be directed and monitored by a senior officer.
A spokesperson for COPFS said: “We can confirm that we have approached Ann Moulds and asked her to participate in an anti-stalking training DVD. No further arrangements have yet been made.”
