Young mum tries to attack police officers
A YOUNG mum tried to attack two police officers as she got out of a police car.
Ashleigh McMillan, 20, tried to boot the cops at King Street station after she was arrested in Ayr town centre.
The mum-of-two admitted the disgraceful behaviour when she stood in the dock at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.
She was also charged with causing a breach of peace at Arthur Street by shouting and swearing and making an offensive gesture.
But her not guilty plea was accepted by prosecutors.
Depute fiscal Maureen Mullan told Sheriff John Montgomery that McMillan committed the offence on November 28 this year.
Her defence lawyer Steven Maxwell told the court that McMillan was arrested after she was refused entry to the Club de Mar.
McMillan, of Ayr’s Low Road, was ordered to be of good behaviour by Sheriff Montgomery.
But he told her: “Police have a hard enough job to do without people assaulting them.
“This is not the way you’ll want your children to recognise you, is it? I hope you’re thoroughly ashamed of yourself.”
