Woman left disfigured after Ayr nightclub incident

A YOUNG woman has been left permanently disfigured after she was allegedly assaulted in an Ayr nightclub.

Gary Robertson is accused of headbutting the woman in Madisons on November 23.

The 36-year-old appeared in private at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.

He pleaded not guilty to assault to injury and permanent disfigurement before Sheriff John Montgomery.

Defence lawyer Peter Lockhart successfully applied for bail on behalf of his client.

However, he has been told not to approach or contact his victim or enter Ayr town centre at night.

Robertson, of Braemar Square in Ayr, will be back in court in early in 2010.
