Tarbolton man charged for alleged assault on girl (12)

A LITTLE girl was shoved to her knees and had a bar of soap rammed into her mouth, it’s been claimed.

Stewart Paterson allegedly assaulted the 12-year-old school girl at an address in Tarbolton.

But he denied the allegation when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.

It is alleged that between November 1 and 30, Paterson pushed the girl onto her knees, held her nose and attempted to push a bar of soap into her mouth.

Paterson pleaded not guilty to the charge.

His defence lawyer Peter Lockhart told the court that Paterson, 40, has never been on trouble before.

Therefore Sheriff Montgomery agreed to release him until he faces his trial in February next year.
