Pensioner (83) robbed of cash

A FRAIL pensioner was allegedly robbed by an Ayr man.

The 83-year-old had £175 stolen from him days before Christmas.

Darron Higgins, 31, has been charged with the offence.

It is alleged that on December 19 at Mainholm Crescent, Higgins robbed the man of the cash.

He made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Ayr Sheriff Court.

His defence lawyer requested bail on behalf of Higgins, of Westwood Ave, but it was refused.

Higgins was remanded until he appears in court again next week.
