A TERRIFIED woman was threatened by her ex partner saying he would wipe out her family.
Stuart Shaw sent text messages to the woman in the middle of the night.
And she was so alarmed by his behaviour she went to police.
At Ayr Sheriff Court this week, Shaw admitted sending the woman grossly offensive texts stating threats against her and her family from an address in Dundonald.
Depute fiscal Maureen Mullan told Sheriff John Montgomery that at 1.40am on October 24, the woman received a message from Shaw saying: “I’m going to wipe out your family. My friends aren’t happy. See you soon.”
Then on November 5 she got another text saying: “Where is my stuff? Don’t make me come for it, it could get messy. I’m not playing games anymore.”
Defence lawyer John Gallacher told the court that the couple, who ended their relationship in September, broke up abruptly and that Shaw wanted his belongings back.
Fining him £100, Sheriff Montgomery told Shaw, now of Glenrothes: “This was not the brightest way to try and get your property back.”
