42 new homes to be built in South Ayrshire

SCORES of new council homes will be built thanks to a million pound cash injection.

South Ayrshire Council has been given £1.05 million from the Scottish Government.

The cash boost will be used to build 42 new council homes for rent.

Adam Ingram MSP has welcomed the news.

He said: “I want to congratulate South Ayrshire Council on their successful funding application to build new council homes.

“Increasing council house building will add to the record number of affordable homes being built across Scotland.

“In particular this funding will ensure South Ayrshire’s economy is kept moving by safeguarding jobs and supporting the construction industry.”
