Man faces jail after stealing bus

A MAN faces jail after stealing a bus and dumping it.

Ryan Duncan took the bus from Kilmarnock Bus Station on November 21 this year.

He then left it in Drongan’s Lane Crescent.

Two days later the 29-year-old stole a car from outside a row of shops in the village’s Mill of Shield Road.

Duncan pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.

He also faced a third charge of stealing a car from the same row of shops on November 15, but his charge of not guilty was accepted by prosecutors.

Duncan, of St Andrew’s Hostel in Kilmarnock, has previous convictions for road traffic offences, shoplifting, breach of the peace and domestic assault.

Sentence was deferred while reports are prepared.
