A PERVERT who sent a pornographic video of himself to a 14-year-old girl has been jailed.
Paul Fenton, 19, filmed himself performing a solo sex act and forwarded the video to the horrified schoolgirl’s mobile phone.
The offence only came to light when the youngster was interviewed by a support worker at her school.
Depute fiscal Maureen Mullan earlier told Ayr Sheriff Court that the support worker knew that the youngster was having contact with Fenton and asked if everything was okay.
The girl confided that he had sent an indecent video of himself. She said that she had been disgusted.
The support worker contacted the girl’s depute headmaster and the social work department who contacted police.
They took the girl’s mobile phone, and when it was examined officers found that Fenton had sent the vile video of himself in March – six weeks after the sleazy pervert was convicted of indecency towards another underage girl.
The sex offender, from Girvan, was forbidden from contacting any girls under the age of 16.
Fenton pleaded guilty to committing a breach of the peace by sending the obscene phone video to the 14-year-old on March 26 this year.
Sentence was deferred on Fenton while reports were prepared and he was remanded in custody.
Defence lawyer John Gallacher told Sheriff Colin Miller this week that Fenton was drunk when he sent the video.
Mr Gallacher added: “His time in Polmont was particularly difficult. Given the nature of the offence, he has had several assaults visited upon him.”
Jailing Fenton for 160 days, Sheriff Miller told Fenton: “This is a very poor report. The whole flavour goes against you. The social worker does not feel that you will comply with any sentence other than a custodial one.”
