Troon greenery row rumbles on.

OUTRAGED Troon residents want to take legal action against the council.

Members of the Marr residents association have teamed up after learning that greenery surrounding their homes will no longer be maintained by the council.

Dozens of home owners met with councillors and officials at a packed meeting last week.

After quizzing them, the residents unanimously voted to seek legal advice.

A row erupted earlier this month when residents learned that the council had decided in February to stop cutting the grass in private housing estates throughout South Ayrshire.

The council have cut the grass in many of the areas for decades.

Budget constraints led to the maintenance of 57 sites across South Ayrshire being halted.

The community now fear that their private housing estates will be plagued with overgrown greenery.

All of the landlords were written to by council chiefs, but with little success.
