A TEENAGER with a string of previous convictions has admitted assaulting a police officer.
Rhys McKenna also confessed to resisting arrest and and trying to fight with cops.
The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to three charges when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.
On August 30 this year, at Calder Avenue in Troon, Mckenna shouted, swore and challenged police to a fight.
He then assaulted an officer by repeatedly attempting to punch him and kicking him on the body.
When officers attempted to arrest him, McKenna lahed out with his arms and legs, struggled violently and out his arms below his chest so that cops couldn't handcuff him.
Defence lawyer Peter Lockhart told Sheriff Colin Miller that McKenna has a history of appearing before the children's panel.
McKenna, of Annfield Road in Prestwick, was released on bail while reports are preparted
