Ayrshire groups land Lottery funding

COMMUNITY groups have landed more than £3500 in Lottery cash.

Awards for All revealed this week that they will give a £1700 grant towards the celebrations being planned for Armed Forces Day by the Monkton and Prestwick Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The money will be used to fund transport, catering and entertainment at the event.

Ayr-based charity the Sensory Impaired Support Group (SISG) has also benefited.

For it received a £1838 grant to help with outreach work and to recarpet the public outreach centre at Tam’s Brig.

Ayr MSP John Scott was thrilled to learn of the good news.

He said: “I am delighted that local organisations continue to benefit from Lottery funding and that two such deserving groups have been successful in applying for grants.”

And Central Ayrshire MP Brian Donohoe is equally pleased, revealing that a further three Irvine-based groups also benefited from the fund.

He added: “I am delighted that these four very worthwhile groups have been awarded with grants from Awards for All Scotland and hope to see may more groups benefit in future.”
