CUMNOCK is under new management.
East Ayrshire Council has appointed a dedicated town centre manager as part of their regeneration plans.
And Kathryn Howell is determined to make big changes.
She took up the post last week and is based within the project office at the Glaisnock Centre.
Kathryn will work closely with businesses and retailers within the town centre to promote Cumnock and to make the town a welcoming environment for residents, businesses and visitors.
Councillor Douglas Reid, leader of the council, said: “Cumnock will benefit greatly from a dedicated town centre manager.
“The regeneration of the town centre remains a priority for the council and Kathryn will contribute to this aim by being a direct contact for local businesses.
“I am delighted to welcome Kathryn to the team and look forward to Cumnock's bright future being realised.”
Councillor Jim Buchanan, spokesperson for the environment and regeneration, said: “Having a dedicated town centre manager for Cumnock will be a great asset to the team and will help to drive forward the regeneration project.
“Again this appointment demonstrates the commitment of the council to the regeneration of Cumnock town centre.”
