Man injured in brutal hammer attack

A MAN was attacked with a hammer right outside Ayr police station.
The 22-year-old Mauchline man needed stitches in his head after the horrifying attack at the weekend.
He was rushed to Ayr Hospital and had to be kept in overnight.
A 21-year-old Monkton woman was also attacked during the incident, in Allison Street.
Their attacker, allegedly a 29-year-old Cumnock man, has also been accused of shouting and swearing at the victims.
