NEW housing projects in Kirkmichael and Straiton have been visited by the Saltire Housing Design Awards panel.
Ayrshire Housing’s project manager Rose Estelles was pleased to show the judges round, and introduce them to some of the delighted residents.
The two conservation village schemes are among only 16 projects from across Scotland which have been short-listed as potentially worthy of an award.
The Saltire Society Housing awards are Scotland’s oldest and most prestigious.
This year it pits small affordable projects like Ayrshire Housing’s against Norman Foster and Partners’ high profile, multi-million pound Quartermile development on the site of Edinburgh’s old Royal Infirmary.
Mike Russell, the Scottish Government’s culture minister, will reveal the winners at an awards ceremony in Glasgow’s Lighthouse on November 9.
