A YOUNG woman has been accused of driving her car at a woman and attempting to murder her.
Janet Wilson, 23, of Wyllie Crescent in Cumnock, appeared in private at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday morning to face two charges.
It is alleged that on September 7, at Wyllie Crescent, she assaulted Christina Alderton by driving a car at her and striking her on the foot, thereafter repeatedly driving a car at her, mounting the pavement and attempting to run her down and murder her.
It is further alleged that Wilson acted in a disorderly manner, shouted, swore and committed a breach of the peace.
Defence lawyer Peter Lockhart applied for bail on behalf of his client.
Wilson made no plea or declaration and was bailed on the condition that she does not attempt to approach or contact her alleged victim.
She was also told by the court that she should be available to attend an ID parade on 48 hours’ notice.
