SHOPKEEPERS in two East Ayrshire towns are being warned to be extra vigilant after attempts to use counterfeit money.
There were three incidents of tendering counterfeit money in Mauchline and Cumnock on September 29.
A pharmacy in Mauchline, Cumnock hospital shop and a coffee shop in Glaisnock Street were targeted by a male tendering a fake £20 note as genuine.
The male is described as 25-40, of average height, wearing a black polo shirt with horizontal white stripes, and a thick white stripe around the sleeve.
Anyone with information contact PC Fraser at Cumnock police office on 01292 306600.
