Killer back in jail after raid

A CONVICTED killer raided a bowling alley in the middle of the night to feed his drug habit.

Craig Dalton, 33, admitted breaking into LA Bowl in Ayr’s Miller Road on January 12 this year.

The thief made off with electrical goods and cash, which was never recovered.

It is the latest in a long line of previous convictions for Dalton, of Ayr.

He has already served four years in prison for the culpable homicide of a woman he injected with heroin.

Dalton admitted mixing the killer drug with water before injecting it into the arm of Agnes Swan, 38, at a drug den in Ayr’s Gould Street in 2003.

The woman had never taken heroin before.

Earlier the same year, Dalton was sentenced to 30 months in prison after he attacked and robbed two 80-year-olds and a 71-year-old during a two-week crime spree.

One of his elderly victims refused to leave the house for three months after the attack and another was prescribed anti-depressants.

His latest offence has resulted in Dalton going back behind bars.

He admitted breaking into LA Bowl on January 12 this year when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court.

Depute fiscal Chris Donnelly told Sheriff John Montgomery that Dalton was seen loitering in the bowling alley earlier the previous evening.

At 3.30am, police were informed that the alarm of the bowling alley was going off.

Officers discovered the front door was smashed.

CCTV footage of the assailant making off led police to Dalton.

Sheriff Montgomery jailed him for eight months.
