A PROJECT to help recovering East Ayrshire alcoholics gain jobs has won government praise.
MSP Cathy Jamieson believes Momentum, the new programme, will be crucial for helping people with problems.
The shadow health secretary said: “I am delighted that Momentum are piloting this new programme locally.
“There is no doubt people and families right across Scotland suffer due to abuse of alcohol, and may need assistance and support to put their lives back on track.
“I believe that programmes such as this should be much more widely available.
“I have recently been calling for the Scottish government to introduce more alcohol treatment and testing orders, and for a wider package of proposals from the SNP government that will help reduce the level of problem drinking in Scotland.”
