Marie D'Lathiam
WHAT’S in a name?
Ayr singer-songwriter Marie D’Lathiam will be coming home to perform at Ayr Academy on Thursday, October 8.
Marie, 23, adapted her stage name from her real name – Claire Latham. She has spent the last six years south of the border, living firstly in Manchester and now in Liverpool.
A former pupil at the school, she is returning to perform on behalf of the senior charities committee.
The talented Ayr girl recently made it through to the regional finals of Open Mic UK 2009. Marie impressed the judges with her soulful acoustic style at the national competition, which searches for the best new musical talent.
The winner of the competition will be given the fantastic opportunity to professionally record and produce their own album with the help of an industry vocal specialist. There will also be the chance to tour across the United Kingdom.
More information on Marie can be found at www.myspace.com/mariedlathiam, where you can also listen to a selection of her material.
