HE’S the teenager set to become king of the ring.
After swapping Tel Aviv for Mossblown, schoolboy Noam Dar is big news.
The wrestler, who combines class time with punishing gym sessions, is being tipped for stardom.
At just 16, he’s already performing around Europe and rated as one of the UK’s most exciting prospects.
Now the cruiserweight wants to follow Prestwick grappler Drew Galloway into pro wrestling’s big time.
Noam, a fifth year at Belmont Academy, revealed: “The big dream is to wrestle for WWE in America, but I always set myself realistic goals. The good thing is they found Drew, so they know talent exists over here.
“He was like me in that he started training really early – I was just 14 when I went to my first training camp.
“Hopefully I get spotted like he did, but if not I’ll just go to the States and give myself a better chance.”
Noam admits there’s little time for a normal life as he juggles school, wrestling – and even a girlfriend.
He confessed: “I don’t really have a social life. I’m studying five highers and head straight off to the gym after class to train six times a week.
“At weekends I’m wrestling all over the country, and I’m even going to Spain in October.”
And he laughed: “Having a girlfriend doesn’t help either, so my time is pretty non-existent.”
Noam is preparing to wrestle in the biggest show of his career, at Irvine’s Magnum Centre.
Maximum Impact will showcase one of 2009’s top cards, staged by Premier British Wrestling.
Noam revealed: “I’m in a six-man match, which brings together the best cruiserweights in Britain.
“It’s going to be a huge show and it’s just great to be involved considering I’m still only a schoolkid.”
Maximum Impact takes place at the Magnum on Saturday, October 17.
Tickets available from www.pbwwrestling.com or the Magnum box office on 01294 313010.
