Drink drivers nabbed by traffic cops

POLICE arrested four alleged boozed up drivers over the weekend.

On Friday, a 45-year-old Prestwick man was arrested in Limekiln Road in Ayr at around 5.45pm.

On the same day, a 44-year-old Coylton man was arrested following a road accident in Main Road, Minishant.

He was charged with drink driving and released to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court next month.

During the same incident, a 54-year-old woman was arrested and charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

On Saturday, a 25-year-old Symington man was arrested after he was stopped in Mount Avenue in the village while driving his Honda. He has been charged with drink driving.

Later on the same day, a 19-year-old man was arrested after he tried to make off from a police car in Tesco car park.

He was caught nearby and when he was taken to Ayr police station it was discovered that he was a disqualified driver, driving under the influence of alcohol.

He was also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
