TRANSPORT Scotland is coming under increasing pressure to put up better signage on the A77.
And Cathy Jamieson has called on Amey to urgently repair vehicle-activated speed signs at Maybole.
Ms Jamieson has been approached by constituents in Maybole on the matter, who want to see the signs working again as soon as possible.
There is also continued concern at vehicle speeds in communities across the constituency.
She said: “The vehicle-activated speed signs have a real impact, and residents are very keen to see them working again as soon as possible.
“I have been in touch with Amey on this to request that the matter be dealt with urgently, and I hope that these signs can be up and running again as soon as possible.
“However, this is not just a problem in Maybole. There is concern in towns and villages all the way down the A77 with regards to traffic speed.
“I want to see better signage along the route and I have written to Transport Scotland calling for action on the matter.”
