IT’S been a busy summer for one MP – who spent eight weeks at seaside resorts, bustling towns and rural villages.
But Sandra Osborne wasn’t enjoying a holiday.
The Labour MP for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock has been holding a series of surgeries around her constituency during the parliamentary recess.
Stretching from Ayr to Ballantrae, she met with the public to discuss a range of issues and concerns.
And she revealed: “A website called 38 Degrees launched a campaign to find out what MPs would be getting up to over the summer.
“They even asked people to snap an MP on holiday.
“I am really tempted to send them 36 snaps of me holding my surgeries in town halls, community centres, schools and sheltered units in every corner of Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock.
“The summer recess is a great time to get round all the areas. During the parliamentary session I have to restrict my surgeries to the main population areas.
“The added bonus of the recess is that I get to see some of the best scenery in Scotland while still helping local people with their problems and listening to their views.”
