Arson attack on garage

A GARAGE and a car were totally destroyed when they were set on fire in an arson attack.

The occupants of the adjacent house were in bed when the fireraising took place at around 3am on Friday, September 25.

Police are now looking for information about the incident in Cumnock’s Barrhill Road.

Inspector Derek Ireland said: “This incident could have had very serious consequences. Good fortune and nothing more prevented this fire from spreading to the house where the occupants were asleep.

“They themselves raised the alarm as they were awoken by the noise of the fire.”

Anyone with any information should contact Cumnock police on 01290 306600.
