A DISTRESSED Ayrshire lady is appealing to readers to help her find two small mirrors which were given to her by her mother, but accidentally donated to Oxfam in Ayr.
“While I was away at university studying, some time during the last few months, a box of my personal effects was accidentally given away,” she explained.
“Most of it is easily replaceable, but among the items were two small mirrors in hand carved frames which were given to me by my mother shortly before she died. I have very few of her things and I am heartbroken by this loss.
“They were quite simple. One was green and yellow, and had on it a moon with a face at one side and some stars on the other. It wasn’t exactly round or oval, but worked with the grain of the wood.
“The other had black/dark wood and a yellow sunburst with a crescent moon, which is not immediately obvious, worked in. They are both only seven or eight inches across.
“It really would mean an awful lot to me to be able to recover these items if it is in any way possible.”
