PRESTWICK folk are rightly proud of their town.
So it’s little wonder they were only too willing to lend a hand sprucing it up.
Residents from the Arran Park area stepped in to help clear away litter, paint the youth shelter, refurbish the graffiti boards and reinstate the brickwork on a statue.
The mini-facelift was organised by the South Ayrshire Community Safety Partnership.
Chairman, Councillor Nan McFarlane said: “Lots of people talk about looking after their local environment, the residents from Arran Park put their words into action.
“Everyone enjoyed carrying out the work and helping to make their local community greener, by disposing of items correctly and clearing those up left by thoughtless people.
“In addition the time and effort spent maintaining some of the local amenities means that people will be able to continue to use and enjoy them.
“I would like to thank everyone who took part, for giving up your time and for working so hard.”
